The flight was fine, except that I seem to feel more cramped every time--especially with all the extras I like to haul around. Those who know me well can now have a chuckle.
In Frankfurt we chose the convenience of a hotel right by the airport. As we expected, our biorythms need serious adjusting (8 hours' difference from Calgary), and it's meant sleeping at very odd times. Food is expensive in the hotel, so we have been wandering around the airport itself, and finding a good selection of stalls, cafes, and restaurants that fit our bill (pun intended). After the second day, I had flashes of "The Terminal" (starring Tom Hanks.) This is only a transition point, however, and tomorrow we're hopping on the train to Kassel.
